Local author Deborah Morgan reads from her acclaimed first novel Disappearing Home, which tells the story of a young girl growing up in North Liverpool through the 1970s and 1980s. She will also read from a selection of recent poetry reflecting life in the neighbourhood.
Deborah Morgan has lived in Liverpool all of her life and in Anfield for the past 25 years. In the past she has worked as a chambermaid, a bingo caller, a dressmaker, and a primary school teacher. She then studied Creative Writing at Liverpool John Moores University, and graduated in 2010 with a first class MA. Disappearing Home, was published by Tindal Street Press in March 2012. Deborah teaches Creative Writing in the local community.
