Home Baked is an exciting new idea which acts as a development agency to work alongside and in conjunction with 2Up2Down. It is a space for workshops, exhibitions and a communal meeting point. It is working with the ethos of people taking control of their own situation by using their own creativity.

The space itself is situated on Oakfield Road opposite Anfield football ground.

“A MUCH-LOVED family Bakery closed its doors for the last time yesterday after almost 85 years in business. Mitchells Bakery has served generations of loyal customers and Liverpool FC matchgoers from the corner of Oakfield Road and Donaldson Street, opposite Anfield.But after it was earmarked for demolition under regeneration plans for the area, the ageing family members who kept the bakery open decided to close for the last time.”
Here at 2Up2Down we realised that this wonderful space, steeped in history and overloaded with an intriguing atmosphere could not be disused and forgotten about.
After asking the Mitchells if we could use the Bakery as a base for Home Baked, keeping it in its relatively natural form, they were keen to let us have a go.
