Brief:
To create and communicate the project brief.
It was in the first week of the project that artist Jeanne Van Heeswijk, project director Franny George and architect Marianne Heaslip set about discussing with the young people of St Francis of Assisi, North Liverpool Academy, BNENC and ABCC what 2Up2Down was.
Firstly it was essential to communicate the project’s brief and potential outcome. Secondly we wanted the young poeple to realise the extent of how they would be involved and what they could gain from being a participant in a project such as 2Up2Down.
Our next task was to invite the young people to think about what makes a home…
We encouraged a discussion about what makes a sustainable, healthy , happy home.
We then showed them photographs of architecture that was inventive, unusual, playful, made from recycled and sustainable materials to open the discussion further of how the houses could be made.
